Theresa Hak Kyung Cha is a Korean artist that can be classified as conceptual artists . Her work continues a semiotic and linguistic research , mixing studies of signs and language. She was the student of Raymond Bellour and Thierry Kuntzel .
For Permutations, the sister of the artist, Hak Kyung Cha Bernadette, is the subject of this structuralist work, which originally was created as a video. Theresa Hak Kyung Cha appears itself in one of those "permutations" at the end of the video, almost like a vision. The rapid movement of these permutations contrast to the immobility of the face, which finally seems fill with life.
