Gray Hairs, 1978

1 Pouce NTSC + Betacam SP PAL, son, couleur

Gray Hair is an exploration in close-up, an original expedition right inside the fur of his sleeping dog, Man Ray. William Wegman plays on an extreme proximity effect to present a meticulous study of the capillary plantation of his friend, who allows him, ever faithfully and devotedly. This seemingly simple portrait takes on a more subtle meaning, by lingering on the animal's fur, Gray Hair provides us with an elegant study of the pelt, of texture, and of a surface full of tension that is somewhat reminiscent of Wegman's photography book on his dog Man Ray.
